A bit of information about myself: while I claim the city of Long Beach of my home (over 20 years and counting), before I moved there my family lived in Carson, CA for a few years. It was kind of a Black nirvana of sorts, sandwiched in between Compton and the LBC.
It’s always been nice to see the city get some shine outside of, like, the Dignity Health Sports Park (where the Chargers have been yucking it up since they relocated from San Diego) and the Magic Disc Music Store — which was owned by the family of Ab-Soul. Speaking of which, the rather reclusive TDE member resurfaces with fellow Carson native Reason on his latest, “Flick It Up.” With a matching set of visuals slated to arrive Friday (Nov. 15), this could be the first single from Reason’s forthcoming project with the label.
