Tank, Ne-Yo, 6lack, & Omarion Denounce R. Kelly Following Lifetime Docuseries

Just a few weeks ago, people were debating whether R. Kelly is the true “King Of R&B.” After the airing of Lifetime’s Surviving R. Kelly docuseries, the veteran vocalist is facing the most significant backlash of his career.

Several of Kelly’s musical peers, including people that worked with him, are now using social media to denounce the accused pedophile and abuser. Singers Tank, Ne-Yo, 6lack, and Omarion are among the celebrities to blast the self-described “Pied Piper of R&B.”

In addition, racial justice organization Color Of Change has called on RCA Records to drop R. Kelly from its roster. A#MuteRKelly! Care2 petition has collected more than 78,000 signatures online.

Surviving R. Kelly presented over 50 interviews with individuals such as his family members, former tour manager Demetrius Smith, former protégé Sparkle, ex-wife Andrea Kelly, and parents of young women said to be involved in Kelly’s so-called sex cult. The program also recounted Kelly’s annulled marriage to then 15-year-old Aaliyah and his 2008 child pornography court case.
