Though one might have questioned whether the Migos could thrive as singular entities, it would appear that the answer is a resounding yes. Back in October, Quavo dropped off debut solo album Quavo Huncho, complete with some bizarrely mystical album artwork. The album, which featured appearances from Drake, Travis Scott, Offset, Takeoff, 21 Savage, Saweetie, Lil Baby, Cardi B, and more, has officially hit Gold status after mere months of life. An impressive feat to be sure, especially given that Huncho featured a few notable singles, but nothing overwhelmingly ubiquitous.
“M Y F I R S T P R O J E C T! ! !” writes Quavo, in the accompanying caption. “Means A lot Thank Y’all.” Despite a rising narrative suggesting a Migos-oversaturation of sorts, the brand remains strong. It stands to reason that the upcoming Culture III will likely benefit from the group’s momentum, likewise for Offset’s debut, whenever it may surface. As for Takeoff’s The Last Rocket, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the slept-on rapper’s solo debut follow in Quavo’s footsteps, though it may take a little longer.
