Pusha T Fires Shots At Drake In New Pop Smoke Collaboration!

Pusha T Fires Shots At Drake

HitNaija.com — Pop Smoke’s album was supposed to include a collaboration track called “Paranoid” between the deceased rapper, Young Thug, Gunna, and Pusha T. And in that song, MTO News has confirmed that Pusha appears to diss Drake.

Pop Smoke’s posthumous album, Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon, dropped yesterday, and while the project was a comfort to many fans, some couldn’t help but take notice of a few artists that didn’t quite make the cut.

According to a report by Hip-Hop Lately, Pusha T was also supposed to appear on the same track called “Paranoid” alongside them. The publication cites a Youtube video claiming to be the leaked song, as well as some lyrics to the song that were published on Genius.

On his reported verse, Pusha appears to take aim at his longtime foe, Drake, by making a dig about Mississauga, the neighboring city to Drake’s hometown of Toronto. Check out Pusha’s whole verse below:

You know reality bites

It’s chess not checkers

Those empty threats only sound good on your records

If the patois is not followed by blocka

It’s like marked for death Screwface, without the choppa

Let ’em rush the stage when you made like Sinatra

Only to find the blade, flyin’ back through LaGuardia

I might even buy a home out in Mississauga

On my walls, half scrawls of Tshabalala’s

Many doors, that are sprawled, they my il nana’s

Make a call, she gon’ crawl, Bad Gyal Patra

I’m involved then absolved, I am Godfather, hush

The estate of Pop Smoke has signed a co-publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music, the global music publishing company of Warner Music Group. The agreement covers all of the late rapper’s music, including his upcoming debut album.

“Pop meant so much to so many people across the world,” Warner Chappell Music President of A&R, U.S., Ryan Press said in a press release. “At a young age, he became the prominent emerging voice on the New York rap scene, helping to bring it back to the forefront. Pop was deeply connected to the culture and well on his way to becoming one of the best artists of his generation. I had the honor of meeting him, and I’m personally committed to doing everything I can to support the Jackson family and Steven Victor in keeping Pop’s legacy alive.”

The estate of Pop added, “We are very pleased and proud to entrust the protection and enhancement of Pop Smoke’s music to Ryan Press and the rest of the Warner Chappell team. Our new alliance with the company and its vast global resources will significantly support the family’s efforts to preserve Pop Smoke’s legacy and musical impact among his fans and the world.”
