Migos are on the way to get their second number one album.
The past year has essentially revolved around the Migos. After releasing Culture and hitting number one with “Bad & Boujee,” they pretty much became the hottest thing in the music industry. Hitting features with the likes of Katy Perry and Sean Paul and taking over every festival stage last summer, they had everything perfectly set up for their third studio album Culture II. After much anticipation, the trio finally released it last Friday and had the whole world talking about it. Now, the talk is turning into numbers and the group will likely debut at number one for a second album in a row.
Industry forecasters predict Migos Culture II will debut at number one this week, Billboard reports. They say the trio is on their way to hit between 180K and 200K equivalent album units by Thursday, February 1st with a large portion of those numbers stemming from streams. The numbers will end up being revealed on Sunday if true.
If they end up hitting the mark, which is likely, they’ll join the ranks of Beastie Boys, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, D12 and A Tribe Called Quest as the fifth rap group with more than hit more than one number one album on the charts.
In addition to all of this, Migos will also be dropping off physical copies of Culture II as a double disc effort which will also end up increasing their album sales. Despite the fact that the album received mixed reviews, they continue to prove that numbers don’t lie.
